Citizenship In Heaven
Tessa explains how even though we may feel like we are always waiting for something new here on Earth, eventually, through Heaven, we find fulfillment from this empty feeling of wandering.
Citizenship In Heaven: Tessa De Vilbiss
Living in Southern California brings a lot of driving and a lot of traffic, but are we ever really at our destination?
On Earth there are many seasons and we’re always moving from one thing to another. There are in-between times and change is inevitable.
Why does it feel like I’m constantly waiting for something to happen? Even when I’m content with where I’m at, there’s always a new distraction that pops up and brings the possibility of newness.
I’m sure a lot of this has to do with being in my early 20s, but “Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ. For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me.” Colossians 1:28-29
This confusion and energy we have is a Heavenly sign from the Lord that this present time isn’t how it was made to be. We’re waiting for our citizenship in Heaven. Things never seem quite right because of our fallen world.
Learn to be content with where we’re at, but know God promises us something better.
“For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.” Romans 8:24-25
